10 Must Haves for 2015 Spring Wardrobe

Hi Everyone,

As we move into the new year, many of you would probably start thinking about what fashion items you should be trending for 2015. With the many post Christmas and New Year Sales going on ( and here in Asia - pre Chinese New Year Sales), here's my top 10 items I have identified that will be staples for most of 2015 and "must-haves", to help ease your shopping woes.

1) Military / Khaki Jacket

Marc Jacobs // Victoria Beckham
As seen on the runway, some designers such as Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckham, Chanel & Marissa Webb have drawn their inspiration from the Safari. A versatile style of jacket and ideally for Spring when the weather warms up a little but still cool enough where you still need an outerwear, here are my options which you could easily purchase online.

ASOS // Maison Scotch Knit Sleeve Jacket( Polyvore)

2) Toga/ One Shoulder Dress
In 2014, we saw Off Shoulder dresses trending the runway, but for 2015, a twist on this with the one shoulder or toga dress/ top is the way to go. An ideal date night outfit!

3) Culottes
The twist on trending this style of shorts for 2015 is how you pair it this time for work -  with blazers, tailored button down shirts and definitely with heels to give it a polished touch instead of flip flops.

Hermes // Chanel // Edun

4) Gingham
While Plaid and checks are still trending for Spring, particularly so would be the Gingham print. For 2015, Gingham takes on a sexy swing on the fashion runway. No longer reserve for young girls' outfits or kitchen linens, sexy up with Gingham prints from these great online buys. Try  combining this trend with the apron/ skirt layering trend for Spring 2015.

Net A Porter // New Look // Marissa Webb
Yesstyle.com // Sportmax // WAREHOUSE
5) Kimono Style
For outerwear in Spring 2015, go for longer silhouettes tied at the waist with a belt aka Obi belt. The kimono, martial arts inspired dressing is another hot favourite on the runway.

Alexander Wang // Philip Lim // Chadwick Bell

6) Boho / Hippie Maxi Dress
A strong emphasis on 1970s for Spring 2015, its time for flower power to rise again! Pull out those vintage Boho dresses or shop online now for a classic look that will take you places.

Valentino // Pucci // Etro // Roberto Cavalli

7) Tailored Shirtdress
I personally believe this is always a year on year classic item to own. But instead of grabbing your boyfriend's or husband's oversize shirt to make it your own, go for one that is tailored and structured with a feminine twist. Whilst at it try combining it with other trends e.g Gingham/ Denim/ Red or Yellow or pair it with an oversize belt turning it into a Kimono style outfit which are all trending in 2015.

8) Lace Dress
Designers were making laces of varied colours for 2015, but ethereal white definitely made it's mark for Spring 2015.

Valentino
Diane Von Fursternberg // Chloe
Why not try out these looks to trend the romantic lace style for 2015?

9) Jumpsuits
Certainly this style of outfit doesn't come as a surprise seeing it was trending for Fall / Winter 2014. The twist on Jumpsuits for 2015 is all about the necklines, cut of the suit, statement accessory pairing - oversize belts, scarves and jewelry which all adds that hint of sophistication to what would be an industrial world inspired look.

Marios Shwab // Naeem Khan // Giuletta
Pamella Roland // Tagliapetra // Trace Reese
These online finds are definitely worth considering in getting this look for less.

10) Gladiator Sandals

Now I bet most of you would already have this item stashed in your closet - so bring them out cos Gladiator Sandals is definitely worth trending again for Spring 2015. Paris Fashion Week for SS 2015 saw more Gladiator Sandals pairing than any other shoe type.

To try not blowing your budget this Spring 2015, go for combine trends when purchasing your new staples. Mix and match them to get the most mileage of your items. For example, One Shoulder Jumpsuit or White Lace Toga Dress, Shirtdress in Gingham, Boho Maxi dress with perhaps oversize belt Kimono style etc.. You get the drift....

You can shop these gorgeous looks now and here.

Till then, do drop me a comment below on which is your favourite item you would like to add to your closet for Spring 2015?

Love,
Simone xoxo

  2. I love all the outfits. I don't much care for the lace up shoes. They would look good on younger ladies or girls. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hi! My favourite items are the kakhi jackets and the tailored dresses, I don't think I'd look good with culottes or gladiator sandals. Thanks for the tips!
